INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST

As our Inventory Control Specialist, you will be the guardian of our supply chain accuracy—ensuring that every bolt, bracket, and precision-machined part is exactly where it needs to be, when it needs to be there. Your attention to detail helps us stay on schedule, avoid costly delays, and meet aerospace and defense quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods using our ERP/MRP system (e.g., Epicor, SAP, or similar).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure 100% inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure materials are available for scheduled builds and assemblies.
  • Monitor shelf-life and storage requirements for sensitive aerospace materials, including controlled and serialized parts.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for government compliance, ITAR regulations, and customer audits.
  • Implement and refine inventory control procedures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support kitting operations for assembly lines, ensuring all required parts are staged and verified before production.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What You Bring to United Precision Corporation:

Required

  • 3+ years of inventory control or materials management experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of ITAR, DFARS, and other aerospace/defense compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in high-stakes environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams.
  • Ability to lift and move materials (up to 50 lbs.) and work in a manufacturing floor environment.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Experience with AS9100 and ISO9001
  • Experience with ITAR Compliance
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Principles Certification

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work performed in a production facility with moving mechanical parts, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.
  • Exposure to moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection provided and required in designated areas.
  • May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
  • Shift schedules may include evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime based on operational needs.
  • Collaborative team environment with a focus on meeting production, quality, and safety standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.11 – $33.46 per hour
